still loving paris. this is our last full day here, and what do we do? laundry. i think i shrunk a few shirts...but, look on the bright side. now i have more space for shopping, both here AND in london. yaaaaaah
after i left off last time, i think we kept walking (when in doubt, we walked.) we went through the old section of montmartre, had ice cream, then it started raining...so we stopped and bought rainy night in groceries and rushed home, where we hung out for a bit with jeff and his friend from bordeaux...and then we just hung out inside...early night.
yesterday, we headed off bright and early for church which we so studiously researched the previous day...and it had cancelled its services for a 'church weekend' (hello? they shoulda known we were coming!) so we rushed off to another eglise reformee du paris by the bastille, but were extremely late for the service (and couldn't sneak in unnoticed) so instead we went for crepes and cafe au lait. :)
walking walking walking...all over. we walked a lot... saw notre dame (during some HUGE organ music---lump in throat!), sainte chapelle (didn't tour sc b/c of too much lineup AND admission fee, boo---brine and i have decided that one day, when we're somewhat less single, we'll come back here. at some point. with mister of course. ((and NOT as a double date--hehe--))---the 3 hour lineup to go up the eiffel tower will be more fun with mister anyway...)
after ND and SC we walked some more, along the seine, then hit up the Musee d'Orsay. and i capitalize that because it was brilliant---after studying so many of those paintings for so long, then seeing them in the flesh---wow. (literally in the flesh...there's a lot of nudity..) all this lump-in-throat business...aaaaah that was really cool. i miss potvin.
and then we walked some more. wooohooo. got on the metro to les halles to save our feet---which was a mistake. we got stuck AND lost, and finally getting out was so exciting---almost kissed the ground!! SO tired, but walking almost would have been better than tube...
had another crepe(with chocolate...comfort food...) and a drink, and stopped in a cd shop on the way to the next metro (NOT les halles of course) i bought the decemberists---we have a cd player but only turkish cds in our apartment, and we're all running low on mp3/ipod juice (gotta save it for the trains and planes)--so it was nice to have music again.
relatively uneventful trip home, nap and journal, then out for late dinner and wine at a cafe on the corner.
we're down one roommate, but kendra managed to get another night at our hostel, so we're pretty excited about that. today: find train details for tomorrow, and shopping. we're saving a lot of sightseeing for when we return with the mister... :)
i dropped a candy on the floor by our door when we were locked out...and i put it on a chair in the hallway. the next day it was gone, replaced with a cute little werther's...i left a cookie, but it's still there.
and now for some theme puns---yes, dalia, we're picking up hot parisiens left right and centre---oh waith, that's 'parisites', our new term for guys who think girls who are traveling really just need a friend. and...paris sure is peeee-autiful...smelly...
i have a lineup behind me.
by the way, hi from brine! she's still here too!

Save me that werthers
Werthers are always a plus! Can't go wrong with werthers.
I think everyone should be issued a werthers a day, everyone would be happy.

I probably shouldn't have dropped french after grade 9 ... I can't read half of your friends comments ... hehe!!! I'm glad your having a good time! Its just too bad you couldn't deciefer that werthers code now the gypsies have one of your friends!! I think you should go into "James Bond" mode and save her. Hehehe ... hope you're having a great time still!!!
