back to blog! of course! i don't know what brine and i will do when
we're not staying at eileen and gord's, using their computer and
internet access, eating their food, and borrowing their nice long
hot shower. i guess we'll have to cope. with less blogging or emailing.
so today: we started out at the V&A Museum--all the beauties of posh life in London. could spend a week in there. from there to the Natural History Museum, where we learned about dinosaurs. wow! then we walked for a while...through hyde park, to the albert memorial...i think that's what it was called? it's kinda funny looking...but the little english girls with their straw hats were definitely better looking. cute!
through more of hyde park to kensington palace, where we found a road full of huge embassies---intimidating, maybe. back kinda through town and through hyde park, etc...to marble arch, then tube (we've become quite proficient) to oxford circle. then we walked down through some stuff like carnaby street (fun for shopping--i found a bead store! heck yeah!) and chinatown, then to picadilly circus, through more town to leicester square. we had a half hour before meeting G&E, so we walked down and found the national portrait gallery. need more than half an hour there! aaaaaaaand then dinner and the producers with G&E. a nice walk through london at night...and that was our day. busy busy! why did i ever think this vacation would be somewhat relaxing!? although i do like the tube---it's so much nicer than driving.
we have a lot to see still. our list keeps growing with more things we discover about london...and my debit card doesn't work at ATMs! meaning...i'm putting this trip on credit. boo. hopefully i can work some banking issues out.
and it's now late. good night.
