in the car

well, not right now. but we have spent a lot of time in robert's car.
he picked us up late...tuesday night? yeah i think so. after picking up nuria at stansted. so we got in his little car and drove a while to his house near petersfield. true english country-ish house, it's been quite lovely!
so...what did we do...oh yeah. drove off to arundel castle, stopped on the way at a little pub in...elsted. sat outside with beers, and with the chickens, watching the hills and inspecting the meticulous gardening. (i can't get away from my landscaper-ness...sigh)
from there to arundel castle, which is still lived in by the duke of norfolk and his family---it's one thing to see an ancient castle, but it's another to see an ancient castle that's still in use! very cool. saw the church there too---a little catholic chapel connected through a large window to the protestant church next door---interesting setup.
uumm...le zinc to warm up, then off home to a wonderful meal! flip! ate so good...stayed up late again, then woke up early enough to hit up stonehenge yesterday. in the rain. it was...mesmerizing.

lots of cool pictures there too...then off to bath, where we toured the bath abbey (and i talked to someone with relatives in ontario--she was very supportive of my skipping school to travel while i'm young. muchly appreciated. :) )
we walked past the roman baths (too expensive to go in) and then off to cadbury's to warm up again. then out to bristol, where robert's roommates have...well, moved in. it's quite messy :)
so we walked around a bit last night, then watched emperor's new groove...and today is dedicated to planning and preparing robert's birthday party. (aaaah i'm gonna bake my chewy double chocolate cookies! so excited!!!....if i can figure out the conversion business, and enough baking stuff in this student kitchen...) prepping for this party includes cleaning a bit of his house...:) (with windolene, not windex. weird english cleaning supplies)
but cleaning comes after fish and chips. :)
