i don't know why i'd never even heard of lent, or doing anything special for it, until i started university. that's silly.
but that's a whole entirely different topic.
for lent, i've decided to watch how much time i spend on the internet. and then i'll spend that much time (or more) in devos.
because, quite frankly: too much time online, not enough time with God.
this way, i'll be conscious about time...and deliberate about spending it Wisely.

I hadn't heard of it until I started my music history course this year. Wow, your idea is very inspiring. A little while ago I was convicted about how much time I DONT spend with God, and since then, I spend half hour in the morning and the same before bed every day and Ive definately seen the change.
Yeah, days without devotions are not nice. I like to sit in my room and do devotions before I eat food. Usually I'm dreadfully hungry in the mornings, and it reminds me that I should hunger for the things of God just as much as I'm hngering for those Cheerios with banana on top. On Saturday i forgot to do devos b/c i slept in, and God kinda took care of making sure that my day was in service to Him anyway. we hosted the seniors luncheon at our church, and Mrs. Bouwman, an old lady, told me we had the same last name. I asked her if we were somehow related, and she said no, but then she took my hand, looked in my eyes, and said "We're brother and sister though." I almost cried. God used a 90 year old sister of mine to reach me that day, and it was beautiful. It reminded me that devotions are not something I do, but that God gives me. I may think that it takes effort, but if God wants me to be devoted to Him He will make it happen. What a wonderful God we serve!
