.reading.week.

yes, it has begun.

of course, about a month ago i was vaguely looking forward to reading week as a time to sit back, make the purse i've designed, get some quality fire-side reading done (eg, juliet marillier and alison croggon...FLIP! i'd forgotten how much i love to read a good book), maybe catch up on some sleep (of course, that's after i stay up all night reading that good book)...

however...
at the same time, i think 'oh, i have an entire week off---i'll hang out with YOU, and YOU, and YOU during reading week, and do this project, and catch up on this class, and read that entire book for that review, and start two papers, and spend a day and a half at the library, and hit up value village's 50% off day today, and buy myself a new journal, and bake a batch of cookies, and clean my room, and go snowboarding, and get back on track with God, and get my car fixed, and---'

and before you know it, when reading week is over, THAT'S when i'll sit back and relax.

it's a little bit frustrating. good thing i don't let that bother me--give me a book and i'll block it all out.
hhmm...healthy strategy?

absolutely not.

GAAAH and i went to chapters and bought 2 books and a new journal...as a 'preward' for doing all this homework. it worked--i read all of panofsky's 'gothic architecture and scholasticism' for a book review...but now i don't want to keep working...

i'm just left wondering: why can't we have a 'reading week' in my country?

for that matter, why must we get 65% to pass a class....
