Creative?

This is a...''Creative Writing Response'' to some research I did in my Geology class.

Said the Sun to the Shine*

Hello. My name is Sun. I live in the centre of the galaxy. Honest! I'm not just being an arrogant ass when I say that the world revolves around me. I'm also the hottest thing you'll ever be this close to. That day back in August when you had a headache and thought you would die? Yeah, that was me. Although, you could have been smarter and sat in the shade.

So, I'm hot and I'll dry you up to a crisp--red and bubbly--and I can kill you with skin cancer. But I'm really so much more than big and hot and dangerous: I'm JUST far enough away from you that I won't burn you up, and I'm JUST close enough to you to be the source of ALL life-giving energy for the entire planet on which you live. Don't fool yourselves: All of the little scientific experiments you do, all of these attempts to harness and control my energy so you can just try to live a little longer, just try to be as powerful as I am for your short little lifespan... Let's just say that I am definitely WAY bigger than you are, and all of your scientific knowledge will NOT get you any closer to knowing me.

In fact, I'm pretty much the only one in all of creation who knows all the details of ALL time--because I've been here almost since time began. I AM time: without me you would have no concept of anything.

Actually, I am going to end someday. The God who made me, and who put me here to measure time and give you energy, also made you. And since most of you decided you didn't want to know Him, He has this crazy amazing plan where those of you who DO want to be with Him will live in a new and wonderful place where He Himself will be the Source of all light and life. (I suppose you can stay with me and my kind if you don't want to be with this God, but you'll have absolutely no protection from my heat, which will be unbearably more than it is now, and you'll be very lonely.)

So right now I guess I just serve as a symbol or reminder of this great God. I'm always here, I'm always huge and majestic and powerful and beautiful. But I'm not God. He's bigger and more majestic and more powerful and more beautiful than I. You can go talk to Him yourself.

With Love,
from the Sun.

Dear Justine:
that's so neat how you wrote that up. i love the letter format:) i guess it makes is seem more personal. amazingly enough, i don't think i've ever thought of the sun that way: as a reminder of God and how majestic and powerful and wondeful He is. that's pretty awesome!

I miss Earthsuit... too bad they didn't last long. The lead guy started up Mutemath, but their stuff is terrible by comparison... especially that dreadful thing they did to the Transformers Movie themesong...

Neat-o! One thing I've heard that excites me: Someday, we're going to see the shadow of the sun. Pretty stoking, if you ask me.
