Luke 5:27-39

Who was/is Levi? Who are the Pharisees and what is their problem? In Line 9 (verse 32) who are the righteous and who are the sinners? What does this mean for the Pharisees? Why don't the disciples fast and pray now? Why would they fast later? What is represented by the old and the new? What does Jesus mean in the last sentence? WHAT is he talking about?

What does Jesus' calling look like in YOUR life? What kind of 'everything' do you need to leave behind? Why? How much of 'everything' is old? What of the old will drag you down? What would it look like for you to throw a banquet for Jesus?

If I were to write that sentence in context of the NKJV says, it would say. "What kind of 'all' do you need to leave behind?" ALL. EVERYTHING. That is really hard to swallow. Thanks for asking me that:) I think it just added to all the things that I'm thinking about, and putting it in context a bit more.

I don't have an answer to what Jesus is saying here. But I do like vs. 31-32. Jesus came to save and heal sinners, people who know they are sinners. He didn't come for the self-righteous, who think they can make it on their own. He came for those who know they need help. That's me.
