"About a river"

"If, however, I wait within this ache and longing,
my desire will be slowly tutored to find its place in the Creator.
This is how I am saved."

-Stephen Thomas Berg
as published in Geez magazine, summer 2007/issue 6.

And then Pastor Paul talked about this this afternoon---Jesus' heart went out to the widow in Nain who had lost her only son, and he said to her:
"Don't cry!"
This is a command: "Don't cry about the loss of your young son--also the loss of your earthly security and of your dead husband's name--but instead put your hope in ME! I'm ALIVE and I'm LORD! My LORDness has no limits:

I am going to conquer death.

PS. Jesus healed her immediate, earthly pain, but did SO much more than just this...

All I can think is that this tutoring is painfully slow sometimes...
