trust and obey

it's the weirdest feeling--thinking that you're NOT ready to get up and go, that you still need someone to hold your hand, but meanwhile having things like "growing up"
just happen
in this case, it's a dayplanner
bible league of canada is pushing me out of the nest

i waited every day for the Word, and he picked me up out of the depths. he's now using bloc to CLEARLY challenge me to get off my butt and do some seed sowing

but there's no way around it
i still feel inadequate, like there's still nothing in my heart to be overflowing to anyone. and yet feeling has not much to do with doing. Ruth committed, got over herself and just gave--and look at the blessings she received!

i get it. but there's still this huge divide between knowing something with your head (my eyes read the words on the page and my brain understands what they mean) and knowing something with your heart, hands, feet. (brain just kept the words and thought about them way too much
during a marathon trimming route in the rain
or something equally dumb)

goooooodd night

PS I just started reading Culture Making by Andy Crouch
I've been looking forward to this for so long

It's sometimes really hard to get those thoughts outside of the brain. Thinking is done with your heart and hands too. Heart and hands complete the thought process. If your thinking in your head doesn't bring anything out of your heart and/or hands, what's the point? We need need need to push our brain thoughts out so that they become heart thoughts and hand thoughts, i.e. doing thoughts.
Thoughts shouldn't be just a mental thing, they're what makes you move as well, what makes your hands clench when you're angry or your legs turn and flee when you're scared or your mouth curve when you're happy. Thoughts bring about action.
It's just harder to get to the action with certain thoughts.
Hard, but not impossible.

I'm praying.

Amen!

Precisely one of the conclusions of my week at camp.

Praying as well.
