i.love.camp.so.much

i got out of chris's car on friday night and took a big deep breath of camp air and said 'i'm HOME!' did a few hop-skip-jump sort of steps...and crashed. haha retreats are fun when you're already exhausted...
so, the weekend was really cool. lots of people. not really lots of people, but a funny/cool combination of people. met new people. talked to old friends. my mom was there as a cook. (haha fun!) um...i just really really like being at camp. really really do like it. a lot. even though i leaned against the wall and got huge globs of pine sap in my hair from the siding---gross! ew.
it was neat because, i've been on a lot of retreats lately that are with 'people from school'--this was a retreat with 'home people'--fellow dutchies, reformed, most of us even went to the same high school. :) it was refreshing to see old faces in a 'new' sort of setting, i guess
and it was really neat to have certain discussions. like, how we as canadian reformed church are acting towards postmodern trends. our one hour discussion didn't even scratch the surface, but it was really cool to realize that there are others recognizing that there are issues involving change that we need to deal with.
and...this is a weird post.
anyways, i realized this morning that i'm really happy. maybe it was the people i hung out with this weekend? (erika! ding!) or the atmosphere, or simply being at camp, or...seeing family today, or sitting on the couch with a good book, or...the combination of all of these...or just having saturday off work? i just felt more like myself than i have in a while. it was nice.
i'm kinda scared to go back to work and let that go...
