i love paris. i think it's my favourite. so far.
i like hanging around with kendra because her french is a whole lot better than mine.
we...went first to the eiffel tower today, but it was huuuuuuge lineups...so we decided to do it first thing monday. so we walked around. a lot. champs elysees, arc de triomphe, cafe au lait... i finallybought a journal!!! (i was literally getting desperate for space in my pink journal)
the louvre yesterday was pretty cool---made me want to paint. also made me tres tired. so we went for lunch and cafe au lait, that really brightened things up, and off we went to find some shopping. didn't buy anything...so if shops are still open on a saturday night, we might shop some more...
the best part of yesterday was the bottle of wine we shared on the steps of the sacre coeur--- and chocolat of course!! it really hit me then how big this world is...specifically, how far away from home i am...and how big my God is...and i wanted to sing with dalia, but i had a bit of a lump in my throat by this time, and dalia's also far away... so when we got home i plugged in some sufjan stevens. :)
things that are bloggable---daddies with babies!! there are so many doting fathers here, whenever we see them with their little kids we elbow eachother and smile. i don't know what it is---they exist in north america, but they're much more noticeable here?
another bloggable is our locked-out-of-hostel moment! we were given a key to the mailbox on the door of our flat---inside the mailbox is this monstrous key for the door, it's one of a kind and not replacable. and of course we get back exhausted with dinner/groceries and i had to PEE like you wouldn't believe...and does the door work? no. you know those ancient doors that require a certain amount of jiggling to get it open...and jeff wasn't inside to let us in...so the nearest phone is up the stairs at sacre coeur, so up we go. our hostel hostess is just a phone call away, she'll come rescue us! uumm...no. we were told to go back and try again...FINALLY we got it open and got inside in time for a pre-dinner/happy hour nap and some intense journalling.
i have the hugest urge to watch amelie.
can't think of any more bloggables----maybe more tomorrow!
